My Testimonial

I happened to go to the Fatima Shrine in Buffalo, New York on the insistence of my Dear departed parents, about 25 years ago. I found a certain peace and tranquility there. It felt like Our Blessed Mother was present in that Church. I started to go to that Church perhaps twice a year, being much younger and figuring I was immortal and didn't need any Spiritual help. It wasn't a few years later that I needed to pass a very, very important exam, one that would determine my future. I had made several attempts to pass this exam to no avail. Finally, I decided that I should entrust my cause to Our Blessed Mother. I promised Her that should I pass this exam, not only would I dedicate this business to Her, but I would constantly bring friends and relatives to this special Shrine. This would be my test to see if She would really help me. I wanted to witness a miracle to strengthen my faith. I told Her this would be my last attempt and if I failed, I would have to change careers to something I was not familiar with and would have to start over. Needless to say, my faith would also be questioned by me. I did this exam halfheartedly, but did say The Memorare (prayer above) before I did the exam. When my mother Rose opened the mail with the results a few weeks later and called me at work to tell me that I passed, I burst into tears. I was so totally overwhelmed with joy. That very week I went to the Shrine, got down on my knees and thanked our Blessed Mother. I told her that since she came to my aid, I would live up to my promise.

I now visit the Shrine at least 4 to 5 times annually and try to bring family members or friends with me each time. Strangely in the last few years, She seems to be more in demand than ever and I have heard some wonderful stories from people of how She has helped them. How could She not? She is the mother of our God and she will intercede for us. Jesus will not refuse her anything. I now have two mothers in Heaven praying to Jesus for me and I am so blessed in every way, both in my personal and business life.

I recall starting my business some 23 years ago. I did not have any contacts, so I went knocking on doors to get business, but doors kept shutting on me with prospective clients telling me they were well established and did not wish to change Brokers, especially to one who was new to the business. It got very frustrating. Again, I turned to Mother Mary and I begged Her for help. My mum and dad prayed the Novena to our Mother of Perpetual Help from the day they got married and they did that daily, and so I started to pray the Novena to Our Mother of Perpetual Help everyday and carried the Novena book in my briefcase. One day, I stopped off at a West Indian restaurant at lunch for a beef patty. I was paying my bill and asked the lady who owned the store, if she was an importer. She said she was, so I asked if she would be kind enough to give me some business, but she was just not interested in changing. I opened my briefcase to give her my business card and when she noticed the Novena book in there and asked me what that book was. Timidly I told her it was a novena book of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. It's amazing how she softened her attitude - she told me she also was a devotee to Our Mother and immediately not only did she give me her business on the spot, but told me she would get her husband to make sure all the importers she knew in the West Indian community - about 10 clients, gave me their business. That's how I got my start and again Our Lady was with me as She knew that this was Her business now as well. How else do you explain a growing business operating for 23 years without the services of a dedicated salesman or perhaps I did have a secret one all along????
